Flower Arranging

Today we got a shipment of flowers for our flower arranging session.

We had great fun putting our floristry skills to the test by arranging them into vases that we will put into our dining room as table decorations.

Firstly, Lorraine and Ruth sorted the flowers out by variety. Then we got to work trimming them to different lengths for the different vases.  It was interesting to see what they both thought looked pleasing to the eye.

Ruth went very heavy on blue with little splashes of red to give a hint of variation and colour, whereas Lorraine went with a more even approach, but spent more time on the trimming to make the flowers come out a bit fuller.

Next time we thought we would make the vases more interesting by adding ribbons for an accent of colour.
