Making Cheese Straws

Recently we got together for baking club, what would be the savoury treat of the day?

We took a vote, and it was decided, that we would make cheese straws.

In preparation Ruth helped grate the cheese and wow did we use a lot of cheese! Lorraine opted for the traditional rolled cheese straw, however, Jean opted for an adventurous cheese swirl.

Everyone was surprised to see how the pastry puffed up and turned a lovely golden brown.

And the best part was to come, the tasting!

We shared the savoury treats, and they were very tasty.
