Ed’s birthday wish granted

With Ed’s birthday approaching, Ed’s wife, Andrea, spoke with Laura, Companionship Team Leader, about a wish for his birthday: a ride in a classic MG car!

Ed used to own an old MG classic car, and he arranged something similar for his own father’s 90th birthday a few years ago, so Andrea thought this would be a perfect way for him to celebrate.

Laura contacted the Winchester MG Owners Club to see if they could help. Their secretary, Steve, jumped at the idea and arranged for a few of the group to visit us so other residents could see the cars and then take Ed out for a drive with a little convoy of MG classic cars. Ed loved his birthday wish; as soon as he saw the cars, he said, “It’s wonderful!”

Steve and the MG owners group enjoyed a cup of tea and a slice of cake with Ed afterwards, and they are looking forward to coming back in the summer with even more cars!
