Local nursery celebrate easter with residents at St Catherines View

29 March 2024

This morning we had a lovely visit from Tops Day nursery for an exciting morning of easter fun.

The children quickly got chatting to the residents, as we started the crafts table the children to have a go at designing and decorating a bonnet with an easter garden scene with all sorts of easter eggs, bunny, and chick decorations.

After all the decorating was done, we put aside the hats to dry and the children got to enjoy a snack of fresh fruit and vegetables prepared by chef.

We then had an exciting visitor in the lounge… the easter bunny!

The children loved meeting him and feeling his soft fur, and this was something resident Sue loved watching as she expressed how she remembers her children being small at these significant times.

After all the excitement, we ran out of time to do our easter colouring competition with the nursery children, so they took some away for our residents to judge next week.

After saying our goodbyes, we waved the children off on their way back to nursery to enjoy an afternoon doing an easter bonnet parade with their new hats!

Spending time with children has such an amazing effect on the residents they were talking about them for hours afterwards and are looking forward to our next visit already.
