Professional, Caring & Kind

Meet the Team at The Aldbury

You’d be surprised how many caring people make up the team that look after residents, maintaining the highest standards of clinical, dementia and social care. From the Home Manager to the Head Chef, the Housekeeping team to the Clinical Lead, we all come together to make ‘One Team’, putting residents at the heart of all we do.

Martin Corrigan – Home Manager

As the Home Manager at The Aldbury, Martin oversees the day-to-day operations of our care home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for all residents. With a strong focus on delivering the highest standards of dementia care, Martin leads a dedicated team of professionals, working closely with residents and their families to meet individual needs and enhance quality of life.

Victoria Smith – Clinical Lead

Victoria is our Clinical Lead, responsible for overseeing all clinical aspects of care within our home, ensuring that residents receive exceptional, person-centred care tailored to their needs. She leads the nursing and care teams, providing clinical expertise and guidance to ensure best practices are followed and regulatory standards are met. A qualified nurse with over 12 years of clinical experience solely within dedicated dementia communities, Victoria has a real passion for enriching the lives of those she cares for through holistic care, fun, and compassion.

Customer Support – Stephanie Bartley

As our Customer Support Advisor, Stephanie is dedicated to providing exceptional service and support to new enquiries, residents, families, and visitors. She serves as the first point of contact, ensuring that everyone who reaches out to our care home receives clear, helpful information and a friendly, professional experience. Stephanie assists families throughout the process of choosing the right care for their loved ones, offering guidance on our services, answering questions, and providing ongoing support. From coordinating visits to addressing concerns, she is there every step of the way, even ensuring new residents have everything they need to settle into their new home.

Kay Gibson – Admiral Nurse

Kay is our Admiral Nurse, a specialist dementia care nurse working in partnership with the charity Dementia UK. Kay works with families to provide support, advice and reassurance. This might be reviewing your loved one’s daily life plan, discussing medication or looking for hints and suggestions on how to get the most out of your care home visits, especially where someone with dementia is presenting complex behaviours. With her extensive knowledge and qualifications in dementia, Kay primarily supports our dementia communities with clinical needs (such as nutrition and medication), social well-being needs (such as meaningful activities) and assists in the review of our dementia training and development of our dementia strategy.

Sam Reid – Care Co-Ordinator

Sam’s role is to support the Home Manager and Clinical Lead in the day-to-day running of the home. The main focus of Sam’s role is high quality care delivery. She works closely with the care team to ensure that all care staff are equipped with the knowledge, training, and understanding to provide consistently high levels of care for each resident.

Nursing Team

Our nurses are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of tailored care. With a focus on both clinical excellence and compassionate care, our nurses are committed to promoting the wellbeing and dignity of all our residents. They work closely with the Home Manager, our Admiral Nurse and other healthcare professionals to create care plans that enhance residents’ quality of life.

Head Chefs

Our home benefits from two dedicated Head Chefs, ensuring that our kitchen operates seamlessly seven days a week. This commitment allows residents to enjoy the same high standards of dining every day, with fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully prepared meals. This is Izzy, who, along with her fellow Head Chef, works closely with residents and the care team to design menus that support wellbeing, offering variety and creativity to make every mealtime a pleasure. Izzy is responsible for leading the catering team in preparing delicious, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of our residents. With a passion for creating high-quality, home-cooked dishes, Izzy ensures that every meal is balanced, flavourful, and tailored to individual requirements, whether for specific health conditions or personal preferences.

Companionship Team

As Companionship Team Leader, Sue is responsible for creating and coordinating a wide variety of engaging and meaningful activities that enhance the wellbeing and enjoyment of our residents. Sue and the team work closely with residents to design a programme of activities that caters to diverse interests, abilities, and preferences, ensuring every resident has opportunities for social interaction, creativity, and fun. This includes regular minibus trips out of the home, keeping residents connected to their community.

Health Care Assistants

Our Health Care Assistants provide compassionate, hands-on support, helping with daily activities and ensuring residents’ comfort and wellbeing. This is Beth, one of our carers, who works closely with the senior care leads and nursing team to deliver person-centred care tailored to each resident’s needs. Their duties include personal care, medication support, mobility assistance, and emotional care, ensuring residents feel valued. All our Health Care Assistants receive regular training to provide the highest standard of dementia care.

Gardener

Brett is The Aldbury’s gardener, dedicated to creating and maintaining beautiful, tranquil outdoor spaces that residents can enjoy all year round. With a focus on enhancing the wellbeing of our residents, Brett ensures that the gardens are inviting, safe, and accessible for all. Brett will encourage residents to relax, walk, or even participate in light gardening activities, understanding the therapeutic power of being in nature and the impact it can have on our residents’ quality of life.

Maintenance

Elvis ensures that our home facilities operate safely and smoothly for residents. He supports residents with routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed. His duties include conducting monthly tests and inspections on various equipment, such as fire doors, water temperature outlets, fire extinguishers, security doors, internal and external lighting, wheelchairs, window restrictors, reclining chairs, and nursing beds.

Housekeeping Team

The Housekeeping Team, led by Kanya, plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment for our residents. With the utmost respect for our residents’ private space, Kanya and the team carefully clean rooms and en-suites, including residents’ own keepsakes such as pictures and ornaments. Personal clothing is carefully laundered, ironed, folded and returned to residents’ rooms on a daily basis.

Senior Administrator

David is the friendly face and organised presence at the heart of The Aldbury’s daily operations. David is responsible for ensuring that the reception area runs smoothly, providing a warm welcome for residents, families, and visitors. He plays a key role in supporting the home’s management and care teams by ensuring that all administrative processes are efficient and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
