“Here at The Aldbury, we put the residents at the heart of everything we do. The home is always full of fun and laughter, helping all our residents live well with dementia” – Sam Reid, Home Manager
The residents and staff of our dementia care home in Poole are a family, making memories with each other every day. We are living life to our full capabilities, with positivity, empathy, compassion and respect.
We help ease the transition to a dedicated setting where professional dementia care specialists are on hand 24/7. We take a ‘can do’ approach and aim to make every day a fulfilled day.
Our dementia care teams assist with all aspects of daily living for our residents, from personal care to taking regular medications, working flexibly to help and maintain the physical care and comfort of residents.
Our own nurses are available for all residents, at all times. We provide nurse-led care to manage complex medical conditions, whilst ensuring all residents can stay within their familiar and comfortable home setting should their care needs change.
Short Stay & Respite
Whether you require a shorter stay, an extended stay over multiple weeks – or even multiple short stays through-out the year, we offer the same high quality care services enjoyed by our long-term residents.
End Of Life
We want people to live well with us, making the most of every single day. If that means being together until the end of life, we want them to die well with us too, as fully supported as possible.
We aim to make every day worth writing about, and our residents enjoy keeping loved ones up to date with what they’ve been up to at The Aldbury. Here are some of their recent highlights.
“The staff are amazing and there to help if you are a resident or family, always smiling and friendly. I wouldn’t have my nan anywhere else. Always plenty of activities and relatives.”
“My family and I send all of you our heartfelt thanks for caring for our relative so wonderfully over the last year. His dementia developed slowly at the start, but eventually he needed a lot more care than I could give him, and he came into your care. Not only that, but he also had more company than he had with just me. I recently asked him if he was happy at The Aldbury, and he smiled and said, “Ooh yes.” It was a great comfort to know he was happy and contented.”
“Thanks for a really lovely party – a huge success I would say! Mum enjoyed having her photo taken with all the staff who were dressed up, and the singer was great! The food was very good and it was so lovely to be able to have a gluten free treat! Well done The Aldbury and thank you for being such a fantastic care team.”
The Aldbury has a very safe environment and is very accessible for families to visit. Communication is very good. The reception area keeps up to date with calendars and magazines which have articles of activities. I recently went with Mum who is a permanent resident there, to the coronation garden party, well attended by residents and their families. Many events happen daily, arranged by the activities team.
“The manager and staff are very approachable and work well together as a team. The staff are friendly and go the extra mile to help the residents. The cleanliness of the home and the residents is excellent and the residents are well cared for. I am very pleased with how Mum is looked after at this care home and would recommend it to other families looking for dementia care for their relatives.”
“All the staff are very welcoming, friendly and professional. There was nothing that they wouldn’t do. The care was very, very good. Lovely environment inside and out.”
Finding the right care home for a loved one is about trust. At The Aldbury, you can be confident in the quality of care we provide.
