A Visit From Three Hens

20 March 2024

Three female hens named Thyme, Lavender and Rosemary visited our residents this morning, ‟They like cuddles,” said Maggie.

Maggie and Rebecca are the volunteers from our chosen charity, Wildlife in Need. They provided a lovely morning where residents were able to stroke, feed and cuddle the hens!

Thyme, Rosemary, and Lavender were rescued by the charity after living in poor conditions. They now live in a pink run which was donated by the Bournemouth airport.

Residents Merve and Valerie voiced that they used to keep hens in their back garden when they were younger and how it was lovely to see hens here today.

Bringing back fond memories. Pam came outside with her husband Tony to feed the hens.

Joy had a big smile when she was able to cuddle Lavender on her lap.
