Fish & Chips by The Sea in Swanage

3 April 2024

We had a lovely day out recently on the minibus.  It was a scenic drive through Wareham’s Saxon town, Corfe Castle village, Swanage and going back on the chain ferry to Sandbanks.

Jeanette reminisced happy memories whilst driving through Wareham, “I used to drive through Wareham in my grandad’s car” she exclaimed!  Also noticing how much Wareham had changed over the years.

Tony kept us all amused with all his historical and fun facts about the Wareham, Corfe Castle, and Sandbanks. He has had lots of adventures sailing his catamaran around Poole harbour over the years!

We stopped for fish & chips in Swanage, as it was our resident Jeanette wish to go to Swanage and have fish & chips by the sea, we all agreed how delicious they were!

“The chips are very crispy and the fish very fresh!” exclaimed Jeanette!  Valerie agreed at how fresh the fish was, “We had fresh fish every day when we had a sailing boat.” She added “My husband and I had a little sailing boat moored at Shell Bay, so we were always on the ferry!” she continued  to say, “We used to hear the scouts singing from Brownsea Island when we slept in the boat there!” she ended with!

A wonderful day out with great stories and memories!
