Our Nursing Care Sets Us Apart

We don’t rely on community nursing

It is inevitable that, sooner or later, most elderly care residents will need nursing care, yet over the last decade, we have seen many care home operators move away from offering nursing care, relying instead on visiting community nurses.

At Abbotts Barton, we have always believed that nursing is an intrinsic part of elderly care, and that as a care home, we have a moral obligation to provide our residents with whatever care they need, whenever they need it.

Reassurance 24 hours a day, seven days a week

You can’t put a price on peace of mind. We employ highly-skilled nurses to be on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so that our residents can enjoy their homely surroundings, vibrant atmosphere and beautiful gardens with the reassurance that should they require nursing assistance at any time of the day or night, it’s not only available immediately, it’s provided by nurses they know, and who know them.

Your Care Services

Assisted Care

Our care teams assist with all aspects of daily living for our residents, from personal care to taking regular medications, working flexibly to promote independence providing support to maintain the physical care and comfort of residents.

Nursing Care

Abbotts Barton’s nurses are available for all residents, at all times. We believe that’s the bedrock of a safe and happy home, providing nurse-led care to manage complex medical conditions, whilst ensuring all residents can stay within their familiar and comfortable home setting should their care needs change.

Residential Care

Our residential care service is designed to provide a comfortable and relaxed home environment where home maintenance, laundry, cooking and housekeeping are taken care of on your behalf.

Short Stay & Respite

We offer the same high quality care services enjoyed by our long-term residents on a short-term basis. Whether it’s for a short period of recovery, a respite break or simply a trial run for those looking for a permanent move, we offer a home from home where residents can live their life, their way.

Dementia Care

Although Abbotts Barton is not a dementia home, we are committed to supporting our residents to live meaningful and fulfilled lives, and that includes those living with the earlier stages of dementia or cognitive impairment.

End Of Life Care

We want people to live well with us, making the most of every single day. If that means being together until the end of life, we want our residents to die well with dignity with family around, in familiar surroundings with staff they know well.

Wish you were here!

We aim to make every day worth writing about, and enjoy keeping loved ones up to date with what’s going on within Abbotts Barton. Here are some of our residents’ recent highlights.

“Thank you so much for all the loving care you gave to him. In particular, we are grateful to the care staff who took such trouble to maintain Dad’s dignity when he needed more personal care. We are grateful to the catering staff who tempted him with good food when his appetite failed and the hosts who encouraged him to eat with good humour and charm. The nursing staff were so caring and professional and we really feel he could not have been in better hands in the last months of his life.”

The words of our residents and relatives say more than we ever could.

“My mum came to Abbotts Barton Care Home in March 2024, discharged in quite a frail state from hospital. She has quite complex needs and is mostly non-verbal. The care, compassion and professionalism of carers and 24/7 kindness to my mum has facilitated a stable and happy lifestyle for her. I visit often at various times during the day and evening and at all times she is being looked after in the most wonderful way.”

“The support both he and I have received from the staff has been invaluable. There is clearly so much that goes into making the residents feel safe and happy and I feel confident that every detail is covered. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and their communication is very good. When I recently went on holiday, I felt I could relax as Dad was in good hands. In only a month, he has experienced so much more than he ever could at home and is the happiest I have seen him in years.”

“I just wanted to express my deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks for the care and companionship you gave to my Mum in the last year of her life. She may have grumbled occasionally but she never failed to tell me how lovely you all were and how hard you worked. She settled into her room well and especially loved the garden at Abbotts Barton.
