Here’s one we made earlier

International Carrot Day is celebrated all round the world on the 4^th April.

We wanted to start planting fruit and vegetables here that we can nurture and eventually use them in our everyday cooking, so Carrots are a great place to start.

We started off International Carrot Day with some facts abouts carrots. Did you know that carrots are closely related to Parsley and Coriander? When we looked closely the leafy tops do in fact resemble parsley.

We put on our gardening gloves and prepped our pots. We have decided to plant our carrots in pots as they have a better chance of survival against the carrot fly, we opted for imperator carrots as they are fast growing.

We sprinkled the seeds, covered with soil, and gave them a good water and in true traditional blue peter style “here is one we prepared earlier”. We definitely didn’t expect them to grow that fast!!!!!
